Longevity Series: Detoxification and Longer Lives


Everyone desires to live a long, healthy life filled with family, friends and endless memories and keepsakes. Modern medicine is now proving that in fact people do have the ability to live longer lives and stay more active at much older ages than any previous generation. One common method of encouraging longevity and anti aging in your life is by utilizing detoxification strategies, products and therapies.
Many people are asking their family doctors about detoxification and if it does help in longevity, and the answer is an astounding yes.

With studies proving more every day that everyone can benefit from detoxification of all those free radicals that damage your body every day. By exposing yourself to certain effects of the environment and specific foods, you can not only shorten your life span but feel completely run down and fatigued as a result. Some detoxification strategies are extremely simple to prevent those toxins from entering your body at all. You can achieve this by eating foods that are not processed and choosing raw or steamed ones instead, by also drinking enough water every day.

You are supposed to drink exactly half of your body weight in ounces each day therefore; if you weigh 100lbs. then you would need to consume 50 ounces of water per day. Also stay away from cigarette smoking and drinking too much alcohol as these items can make you age at a rapid speed. Nutritionists are very clear about referring their patients to consume as many colors of fruits and vegetables at each meal as they can. In doing so you can receive anti oxidants on a regular basis from those brightly colored foods that are so crucial to the detoxification process and to stay looking youthful.

There are also supplements and various detoxification products on the market to help stop the clock and increase the longevity process in your body. When using these products, you will notice your skin looks more vibrant, your hair and nails appear healthier and you can also be on a successful path for weight loss. Another benefit of detoxification is that it prevents illnesses, when you begin to take better care of yourself, and stop the cycle of putting those toxins and processed foods into your body your organs can begin to reverse damage done to them. Just by consuming raw foods and certain herbs you can ward off several forms of cancer.

Detoxification can do so much more than just extend your life span; it can also cure many secondary ailments you may be suffering from as well. Some of these are acne, eczema, the common cold, bloating and seasonal allergies. You can truly feel brand new after just a one week detoxification cleanse which would be consuming a tea or special mixture of fruits and herbs at home that would take the place of food for one week as your source of calories. Those types of detoxification can be performed several times a year to encourage a healthy jumpstart before a vacation or special event and every time you cleanse the body in this manner you are essentially improving your health and making sure you live a long and active life!

  1. Something I learned from a vegan friend of mine...even though it is time consuming drinking lots and lots of carrot juice is a good body cleansing method. Lol, although your hands will start turning an orange-ish color if you drink it in excess.
